چکیده

Abstract We present the South Galactic Pole (SGP) data release from GaLactic and Extragalactic All-sky Murchison Widefield Array (GLEAM) survey. These combine both years of GLEAM observations at 72–231 MHz conducted with (MWA) cover an area 5 113 $\mathrm{deg}^{2}$ centred on SGP $20^{\mathrm{h}} 40^{\mathrm{m}} < \mathrm{RA} 05^{\mathrm{h}} 04^{\mathrm{m}}$ $-48^{\circ} \mathrm{Dec} -2^{\circ} $ . At 216 MHz, typical rms noise is ${\approx}5$ mJy beam –1 angular resolution ${\approx}2$ arcmin. The source catalogue contains a total 108 851 components above $5\sigma$ , which 77% have measured spectral indices between 72 231 MHz. Improvements to reduction in this include use as sky model calibrate data, more efficient automated algorithm deconvolve snapshot images, accurate primary correct flux scale. This enables sensitive large-scale studies extragalactic populations well variability one-year timescale.

The Murchison Widefield Array Correlator

The Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) is a Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Precursor. The telescope is located at the Murchison Radio–astronomy Observatory (MRO) in Western Australia (WA). The MWA consists of 4096 dipoles arranged into 128 dual polarisation aperture arrays forming a connected element interferometer that cross-correlates signals from all 256 inputs. A hybrid approach to the correlati...

Galactic SNR candidates in the ROSAT all-sky survey

Identified radio supernova remnants (SNRs) in the Galaxy comprise an incomplete sample of the SNR population due to various selection effects. ROSAT performed the first all-sky survey with an imaging X-ray telescope, and thus provides another window for finding SNRs and compact objects that may reside within them. Performing a search for extended X-ray sources in the ROSAT all-sky survey databa...

Galactic and Extragalactic Magnetic Fields

The strength of the total magnetic field in our Milky Way from radio Zeeman and synchrotron measurements is about 6 μG near the Sun and several mG in dense clouds, pulsar wind nebulae, and filaments near the Galactic Center. Diffuse polarized radio emission and Faraday rotation of the polarized emission from pulsars and background sources show many small-scale magnetic features, but the overall...

Remote Sensing of the Heliosphere with the Murchison Widefield Array

The Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) is one of the new technology low frequency radio interferometers currently under construction at an extremely radio quiet location in Western Australia. The MWA design brings to bear the recent availability of powerful high-speed computational and digital signal processing capabilities on the problem of low frequency high-fidelity imaging with a rapid cadence...

The ROSAT All-Sky Survey: a Catalog of Clusters of Galaxies in a Region of 1 Ster around the South Galactic Pole

A field of 1.013 ster in the ROSAT all-sky survey (RASS), centered on the south galactic pole (SGP), has been searched in a systematic, objective manner for clusters of galaxies. The procedure relied on a correlation of the X-ray positions and properties of ROSAT sources in the field with the distribution of galaxies in the COSMOS digitised data base, which was obtained from scanning the plates...
